Psalm 73 –
What else have I
in heaven but you?
Apart from you
I want nothing on earth
My heart leaps for joy,
For you, O God

Now I am experiencing
the Clear Light of objective reality.
Nothing is happening,
nothing ever has happened or ever will happen.
My present sense of self, the voyager,
is in reality the void itself,
having no qualities or characteristics.
I remember myself as the voyager,
whose deepest nature is the Clear Light itself;
I am one; there is no other.
I am the voidness of the void, the eternal unborn,
the uncreated, neither real nor unreal.
All that I have been conscious of is my own
play of consciousness, a dance of light,
the swirling patterns of light in infinite extension,
endless endlessness,
the Absolute beyond change, existence, reality.
I, the voyager, am inseparable from the Clear Light;
I cannot be born, die, exist, or change.
I know now that this is my true nature.
One of the devotees at the temple was well known for his zealousness and effort. Day and night he would sit in meditation, not stopping even to eat or sleep. As time passed he grew thinner and more exhausted, The master of the temple advised him to slow down, to take more care of himself. But the devotee refused to heed his advice.
“Why are you rushing so? What is your hurry?” asked the master.
“I am after enlightenment,” replied the devotee, “there is no time to waste.”
Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.
This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.
Simplicity of life in a complex and complicated world is marked, I think, by four characteristics: a life is simple if it is honest, if it is unencumbered. If it is open to the ideas of others, if it is serene in the midst of a mindless momentum that verges on the chaotic. And which of these do you do best? An which of these do you do poorly?
The homeless live in boxes
Some live in a box of cardboard
Some live in a box of dates and times
Some live in a box of lists
Others an identity box
Or a box of expectations
All the homeless live in a world view
They swear their boxes free them
Each homeless person has a favorite box
Some homeless rave on
about thinking outside the box
They do this from within their box
Where can I find a person with no box
A person who is home in the universe?
Where can I find a person with no box
Who I can box with
and we can have a sip of this fine wine?

Show me the suffering of the most miserable;
So I will know my people's plight.
Free me to pray for others;
For you are present in every person.
Help me take responsibility for my own life;
So that I can be free at last.
Grant me courage to serve others;
For in service there is true life.
Give me honesty and patience;
So that the Spirit will be alive among us.
Let the Spirit flourish and grow;
So that we will never tire of the struggle.
Let us remember those who have died for justice;
For they have given us life.
Help us love even those who hate us;
So we can change the world.
Amen.
At the center of the universe is a
loving heart that continues to beat
and that wants the best for every person.
Anything we can do to help foster
the intellect and spirit and emotional growth
of our fellow human beings, that is our job.
Those of us who have this particular vision
must continue against all odds.
Life is for service.

Letting go into fear, accepting it may seem counterintuitive. Yet because fear is an intrinsic part of being alive, resisting it means resisting life. The habit of avoidance seeps into every aspect of our being: It prevents us from loving well, from cherishing beauty within and around us, from being present to the moment. … Radical Acceptance of fear is right at the center of our spiritual awakening.
A man is being chased by a tiger and he leaps off a cliff in his attempt to get away. Fortunately a tree growing on the side of the cliff breaks his fall. Dangling from it by one arm – tiger pacing above, jutting rocks hundreds of feet below – he yells out in desperation, “Help! Somebody help me!” A voice responds, “Yes?” The man screams, “God, God, is that you?” Again “Yes.” Terrified the man says, “God, I’ll do anything, just please, please help me!” God responds, “Okay then, just let go.”
The man pauses for a moment , and then calls out, “Is anyone else there?”
You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day
cannot unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death,
open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one,
even as the river and the sea are one.
In the depth of your hopes and desires
lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like the seeds dreaming beneath the snow
your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams,
for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd
when he stands before the king whose hand
is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling,
that he shall wear the mark of the king?
Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind
and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing,
but to free the breath from its restless tides,
that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence
shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top,
then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs,
then shall you truly dance.

Authentic power is the alignment of your personality with your soul. The creation of authentic power is a lifetime endeavor. It requires becoming aware, moment by moment, of what you are feeling and the decisions that you are making. The creation of authentic power confronts you with the most unhealhy parts of yourself - the parts that blame criticize, judge, resent, envy and hate others, yourself, and the universe.

Our mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind.
Say not, "I have found the truth," but rather, "I have found a truth." say not, "I have found the path of the soul." say rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path." for the soul walks upon all paths. The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed. The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.
March 5,
Soul is not a thing, but a quality or a dimension of experiencing life and ourselves. It has to do with depth, value, relationships, heart, and personal substance. Care of the soul begins with observance of how the soul manifests itself and how it operates. It is when we are most human that we have the greatest access to soul. Thomas Moore
